Olde Town Pedestrian Mall
Arvada, Colorado
StudioCPG collaborated with the City of Arvada to transform three blocks of the Olde Town district into a vibrant and inviting Pedestrian Mall.
Morrison Road Streetscape Implementation Plan is a preliminary design tool generated by StudioCPG and developed by Westwood residents, the Local Maintenance District (LMD), business and property owners, special interest groups, the development community and city staff to improve pedestrian safety and transform a commuter arterial into the west-side Mercado Lineal. The plan provides a framework for reconstruction of the public right-of-way that expands and protects the public realm, and creates opportunities for public gathering and events.
-Established project goals for the Mercado Lineal
-Prepared conceptual design documents that reflect the vision of the community
-Conducted community engagement process that allowed for continued public input throughout the design refinement process
-Established pedestrian and vehicular lighting strategies to improve pedestrian safety and visibility throughout the length of the corridor and at each intersection
-Prepared a phasing strategy for incremental funding and construction of the Mercado Lineal
-Prepared Preliminary Opinion of Probable Costs by phase
