Cherry Creek South Drive
Denver, Colorado
Cherry Creek South Drive runs along the iconic Denver waterway and is included in the Cherry Creek Greenway Corridor Master Plan. The future “vision” of the corridor is one that promotes a high quality of life for local neighborhoods, not only in terms of safe access and enjoyable use of the Cherry Creek corridor, but also one that improves the ability to safely travel within the community between residential, shopping and business locations, community facilities, social outlets, and other nearby destinations. Protection and enhancement of the natural environment, as well as creation of convenient and safe pedestrian and vehicular linkages to community resources serve as the guiding principles of this planning effort.
Streetscape Improvements
Two phases of Cherry Creek South Drive streetscape improvements were constructed over the last decade. StudioCPG is providing trail and landscape design for a four block length of the street centered on the Steele Street intersection and including the Cherry Creek Greenway pedestrian bridge connecting to the Cherry Creek Shopping Mall. The project includes new intersection design, a multi-modal trail walk and roadway cross-section, a pedestrian bike plaza at the Steele Street pedestrian bridge crossing, landscape and water quality facilities.
