La Lomita Park Redesign
Denver, Colorado
Redevelopment of the flood control function at Asbury & Tejon Park will improve regional water quality and expand local recreation opportunities at the park
Denver Zoo, Denver, Colorado
StudioCPG designed a new playground as part of the redevelopment of the Northern Shores exhibit/concession area at the Denver Zoo. The playground is oriented primarily to young children and organized around a subarctic landscape theme or narrative consistent with the adjacent polar bear and seal exhibits. It includes sand play, several climbing features and an interactive water feature allowing children to manipulate water in a naturalistic setting suggesting a tidal cove.
The project, completed Spring 2011, moved forward as a fast track “design-build” process with each design discipline contracted directly to Haselden Construction. The water feature is designed by StudioCPG and constructed in coordination with Waterwise and Colorado Hardscapes.
