StudioCPG provided Landscape Architectural and Public Outreach for park renovations in Thornton, Colorado
Aspen Park
StudioCPG prepared Contract Documents for the restoration of a neighborhood park in for the City of Thornton. Aspen Park is a half-acre park with a half basketball court that was cracked and damaged by the roots of adjacent cottonwood trees.
The court was relocated and the senescent trees removed. New plantings were added to better provide a buffer from the adjacent homes and new concrete walks and ramps provide universal access to the park.
StudioCPG facilitated a Public Meeting during the Preliminary Design Phase so that nearby residents could review and comment on proposed park improvements.
North Creek Farms Park
StudioCPG prepared Contract Documents to transform a capped oil well site situated in a suburban residential PUD into a 5-acre neighborhood park. Improvements include a playground expansion, shelter, turf play area, full court basketball, and a perimeter loop path. The layout, grading, and drainage work together to drain the playfield and basketball court, protect adjacent homes, and concentrate water at an existing inlet.
StudioCPG facilitated a Public Meeting during the Preliminary Design Phase so that nearby residents could review and comment on proposed park improvements.
